The technology behind keeping students learning safely
Jamf engineers Wouter Brink and Matthias Trip unveiled major enhancements to Jamf Safe Internet, including time-based policies for contextual content control and an on-device phishing-detection model powered by Apple’s neural engine. The new architecture leverages Apple’s Network Extension framework to filter URLs, IPs and apps directly on devices, ensuring safeguards are always active.
Modern technology for enhanced visibility and protections
Traditional firewalls and DNS gateways lose visibility once students leave the school network. Jamf’s on-device filtering preserves privacy while maintaining protection and focus wherever learning happens. Time-based scheduling lets schools tailor access for after-hours study while meeting crucial requirements, such as the Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA) in the U.S. The Core ML phishing model detects and blocks malicious links locally, keeping sensitive data out of the cloud and just as importantly, away from threat actors.
